new tranny break-in

hello, i am about to get my tranny from shepherd and i was wondering how long the break in period is on a new transmission but i am still using the old clutch i have on the car.

There really isn't a break-in period for transmissions. I'd be easy on it for the first few miles, just to make sure everything gets lubricated properly, and to make sure there aren't any major problems (nice slow, easy shifts). After that, its ***** to the wall.

rebuilt trans will be a little tough/notchy at first but we run them around for ~10miles or so and then its hammer time. No 'break in' needed.
