Mitsubishi diaqueen Manual tranny fluid
ok, so I might be overthinking this, but I have done some reading that there was an EVO that had sucky transmission, and Mits decided to make their own oil to save this tranny.....
the fluid is:
is this a synthetic oil? or a dino oil?
Here is the deal, I am about to take possession of a rebuilt 03 Lancer FWD F5M42, it will have new synchros and bearings.... I have read from TRE that there should be a break-in period. What fluid should I use during this break-in? The fluid I currently have, is 3 qts of Redline MT90. A friend of mine said to break-in a trans with dino oil, and then use the good stuff in like 500 miles.....
My trans is not a TRE trans, just a local builder
There seems to be soooo much info online, but half of it contradicts the other half....

The redline you have will be fine. Transmissions don't need a certain kind of oil for break in like engines do.

ok.... sooooo should I still perform a break in period? the responses I have gotten are about 50/50
yes, not driving like a maniac for like the first 500 miles, then do a drain and fill?

Yes, drive it easy for the first 500-1000 miles to give the synchro's time to break in. And change the fluid at the 500 mile mark, then again at the 1500 mile mark. As you drive it and break it in, you'll feel it start to shift better as the synchro's break in.

I will be using MT90 by Redline...... from what I have been reading MT85 by Redline is the ONLY fluid other than OEM that should be used in the EVO, but I jsut have a regular Lancer that doesn't have the limited slip, or transfer case
Is the OEM Diaqueen a synthetic?

You'll be fine with the MT90. You're way over thinking this.
