fresh install of Injen intake & IC pipes BOV noise

I must be missing something, we installed an Injen intake, and intercooler pipes, upper and lower, used the stock BOV. Now it whistles on acceleration and deaccleration. As soon as it starts to come up on boost it starts to whistle and gets louder as the boost comes up. When I let off throttle it acts like a normal BOV. whistles for a moment and then stops. IS it possible that I have installed the BOV backwards? I have tried it both ways and when swapping it out in the other direction with the plunger away from the boost, it does not whistle upon acceleration but flutters in that direction. Any help would sure be appreciated.

It's funny. There's an EXACT same post by someone last week who has the same concern. When you put any open element intake/filter, the stock DV noise will get amplified and produce a whoosh like those VTA BOVs.

Yeah, exact post once again without any searching.

Isn't this why you got that kit anyway...to make noise? It certainly wasn't for power or performance, so that only leaves noise and bling. Most people want to hear the WHOOOOOOOOOOSH and the SPOOOOOOOOL, but I guess a few only want the BLING BLANG!

i have the injen intake, upper piping and lower.....trust me its normal. I was the one who posted the same exact post earlier.....but ppl said its absolutely normal for the DV to get loud and sound like a aftermarket one. Mine also makes that Whooosh sound when i let off the throttle. Plus i can hear the turbo spoool, its loud and sounds good to hear ur turbo spool up like that. I love my injen setup.

New IC pipes aren't the remedy for that. Aftermarket pipes can blow off just as easily. I still have my original, factory IC pipes with stock worm clamps running 26+psi daily with tons of racing. No worries, mon!

You'd probably love 40-50whp even more for the same price (MBC + flash), but you wouldn't get the cool noise.

You are an idiot sometimes...

I ran an 11.8 with my injen intake installed. Strangely enough it didnt rob me any power whatsoever. It helped. I ran a 12.0 before it, and an 11.8 after that and a reflash. Maybe he has an MBC and a flash already. Not everyone wants to go the Warrtalon mod path. People have more ideas then just power in their mind, some people like their power mods to be aesthetically pleasing as well.

is 277 good ? im not sure if you are making fun of yourself or if you are boasting lol. I've got a buddy here with a 9.8, cams and normal bolt ons cut an 11.9 in the 1/4. I do agree with you though, its not as if the injen product is garbage. Only reason i got rid of mine is because they sent me the wrong upper pipe with my kit and it sat too high in the engine bay

Well thanks for the encouragement, but I have been put down by better in my life. I am curious though, why does it sound like the bov is leaking as it spools up? when I ran it backwards, Ok stop already. the spool up is very consistent without the whoosh, but the blow off stutters. When I run it (the bov) in the correct configuration it is considerably louder, and the boost level is noticeably less on the gauge. My MR has 5k on it. not that this matters much. I had planned on getting it flashed and adding the MBC, all in good time. I would like to add a downpipe and test pipe prior to the flash, so as to not have to do it twice.

im not sure what the "leaking" sound is you are hearing... or how you can hear that during spool. You should be hearing the turbo spool. When you run the BOV backwards, it doesnt allow it to blow off, the valve is pushed closed, not open.

when the blow off valve is installed in the I assume correct direction the boost is actually pushing it open against the spring? so the vacuum is assisting it. this may be the whole problem in that I did not note how the bov came off and I assume the photos in the injen instructions of the bov is correct. Maybe not. anyone have a photo of an oem bov installed prior to some dip as myself taking it off and not remembering how it came off?
The spool up noise changes dramatically with the position of the valve, not just the whoosh or whistle of it when it is actually blowing off, but the spool up noise is what is noticeably different and this is what concerns me. thank you for your help.
