Greddy oil filter block adapter safe for engine?

I just bought the greddy oil block adapter for my evo ix. I did search for topics on this and some people said that it might require a smaller oil filter in order to fit the engine undertray. is this correct for the IX?

Also is this adapter safe for the engine? i.e. does it block the flow of oil or reduce oil pressure?

thanks

are you referring to the remote mounting kit? if so, don't waste your money. it's pretty cheap, has weak little hose clamps that break easily if you try to crank them to any reasonable tension. it does raise your oil capacity slightly though, and makes the filter easy to access, although i think that the stock location is extremely easy to access already and is fine. if you are determined to use an aftermarket oil filter sandwich, use a Mocal or something and use all AN fittings. stock or that are the only two ways to go. but adding rubber hoses and clamped fittings to your oil system is stupid if you can avoid it.

Honestly man I would sell that thing and just get the 42 Draft designs adapter to replace the one plug by the filter. I did and zero leaks and you can use the stock filter which is a good thing IMO.

I would definitely return that item if you can. I used it and it was a $700 mistake. I was using the Greddy adapter and a K&N filter while driving on the surface streets of north Chicago. A frost heave reached out and touched me by ripping off my oil filter, breaking the oil filter housing and keeping me in Chicago for another 3 days.

I have since went with the 42 Draft Designs adapters and the oil filter is nice in cozy back up at stock height.
