Which would be better... HKS Intercooler pipes or Samco hoses?

Im at a little fork in the road here. I want to either replace my Intercooler pipes with the HKS polished ones or I want to get some Samco intercooler hoses. I realize that you cannot do both. You can either stick with your stock intercooler piping and get the Samcos or you can get the intercooler pipes from RMR or HKS. What I was wondering is do upgraded intercooler pipes add any performance gain or are they just for show? I mean are they any bigger in diameter or are they the same size. Just wondering which one would be a better route to go and if those HKS pipes actually do flow better and add some sort of a power gain.

correct me if i am wrong. i dont know if hks piping diameter is bigger then stock or not, but i think it will work better then samco one, because samco hose might expand under high boost but steel pipeing wont.

One of the cars dyno'd yesterday had the Samco kit installed by Matrix Engineering. In the final analysis, I don't think it really showed any gain in the horsepower numbers (compared to the other cars without). That seems to be the general consensus as well, no HP from hoses. I think there are benefits though. A shorter path and less flex would probably produce better turbo response. Depending how sensitive you are to your car, you may or may not notice.
