For those with Blitz DTT turbo timer

Those of you that have the Blitz DTT turbo timer installed, what kind of pressure/vacuum are you seeing? I am in negatives even if cruising on the highway with slight throttle on. I wonder if that is normal??

Idle is at around -55-60 and peak boost 1.29

That's about right. I'm usually in the -0.44-0.5 range during idle and maybe -0.2-0.1 range during cruise. My peak hits 1.33 consistantly

how much time time does your timer add in automatic mode. Mine seems to always add 30 secs (no matter how I drive)

i saw that the blitz TT reads boost in the hKpa units...is there an option on the TT that converts the units to either bar or psi (for those of you that actually have it?)

Thanks!

I have the DTT installed. Mine has spiked to over 1.5 pretty often. It then settles down to about 1.3x fairly quickly. All I have is a UR cat back.

I also have it go to 1.29 bar . I also find that the auto mode doesnt work like it should I try to go the extra conservative rout and let it run at least a minute for every ten I drive unless I am driving it hard. then I go for no less than 7-10 minutes. I do not know if this is correct but I figure it can't hurt only help in the long run. Anyone else know the correct amount of time you should run? I am new to turbo's.

I never use the auto mode anyway. Typically just set it at 90 seconds and let it go on manual. If I parked it after a 'spirited' drive i would bump it up a couple minutes. I've had it on one of the auto settings before (don't remember which) and it seemed to acrue time appropriately.

I am assuming you have the previous version of it and not the one that most people here are installing?

No it's the one everyone is installing. I got it when it first came out and they even had a harness for it. Blitz DTT with boost gauge, track timer and some other stuff I never used. Auto and Manual timer. I love it. It will be going into my evo.

I also love there boost controlers. Blitz makes great stuff.

It's seems to be pretty solid... I use the boost gage with the peak warning... I set it up to auto timer with a 30sec minimum... It seems to calculate time well... went over a minute at my last auto x after every run... Most people seem to want to idle the car much longer than is really needed. To each their own... there is plenty of reading to be found that shows that a few minutes is more than plenty for anything short of a salt flat type run...

I know this is an old thread... but... I'm a newbie looking for
turbo timer for my new EVO...

I like to get Blitz DC dual timer b/c it comes with boost gauge...

Is it correct that I will need the Blitz timer and the EVO harness??
(which is the same as the 99+ eclipse??)

Will the boost gauge affect installation of a boost controller later?

Is the installation difficult?? (Sounds like I will need to connect
a wire from engine through firewall to the cabin? Dash removal?)

Thanks!

No it will not affect a install of a Boost controler down the road. Install with the harness is nice a easly. But yes to have a boost reading you will need to run a small Teflone tm hose throw the fire wall. You will also have to cut a vacume line (Manifold) to tap the T fitting to read boost. I would like to suggest to use Teflone tape on the T to make it larger and a tighter fit into the factory vacume line. The is a good unit and the boost reads dead on. But it's kinda hard to read because it's not analog.

If you need help email me and I will explain how to install it.

Eric

I esp like the peak hold and peak warning function... a button push away from know the most I hit and a red light if I hit my programed max boost.

Eric,

Thank you for the offer... I just might shoot you an email once
I purchase the unit...

About the firewall.... no drill right?? Also, when mounting the
interior inside the car... will dash removal be necessary?

Thanks again!

Yes you will have to remove the dash and not drilling needed.

Hi guys, I have just purchased a dtt dcII w/ greddy harness. I have read from a post that the greddy harness has the 2 ignition wires reversed (IG1&2). And this will cause the car to stall when the ignition is taken over by the tt. Do you guys know if it is still an issue and how can I tell if the greddy harness has the 2 ignition wires reversed? Also there is an A/B dip switch in the back of the main unit(not the display unit), do you guys know what is it for?

Thanks!

I have the same question too... blitz doesn't have/make the
harness... the shop recommends greddy harness as well...
does the harness need modification before install..

Thanks,

I have one but mine uses the HKS adapter I got it from Vividracing.com I believe it is the 99 eclipse harness It is easy to install and you will not have to worry about any wires being crossed. I also have the English instructions If anyone needs them I can e-mail them to you just PM me.

about harness...so far..

1. Greddy ones needs a two wire swap.
2. HKS harness works
3. Blitz harness
4. all of them uses 95-99 eclipse harness

Also.. the DCII unit consists of a brain unit (bigger square) and a
display unit (smaller LCD)... where does everyone mount the
brain unit?? Could we simply hide in the dash? If we can't,
might as well get the DTT Type-X (combines brain & display).

Thanks,

Thanks,
I hide it under the compartment that's above the shifter. You can simply pull that out and there's some nice space under it.

Max I've hit is 1.31 in fifth gear, which is 19psi.

JT_KGY,

I have just been through hell and back with the greddy harness, i found that not only the harness has the IG1 and IG2 wire swapped, they are simply taping the wrong line. I have to take the harness apart twice and redo the harness wiring. Luckily, I did not damage the connectors on the harness. I think I have everything sorted out now and everything seems to work fine.
For those who wanted to install a Blitz turbo timer, DO NOT get the greddy harness!!! It's a pain in the a$$ to install.
I also have questions about how to set the timer to default on using manual timer mode. I wanted to set the cool down time to 1min30sec and be done with it, but somehow the timer is always default to auto mode.

I will post some pics for my install...after catching some sleep.

JT_KGY,

I've got some pic(not very good quality) of the hole that I used for the boost line and the mounting location for the display unit.

I've purchased a cell phone holder that can clip on to the air vent for $1 from a local dollar store. I then mod it and tape it to the back of the turbo timer display unit with the wire running down the air vent tunnel and through a joint between the tunnel. The main unit is then mounted on top of the ecu bracket (behind the glove box. The air tube for the boost guage is then routed through a small hole to the right air vent box (also behind the the glove box). I think the hole is there for the right-hand drive clutch master cyl. I hope the pic comes out good enough for everyone to see.

-Terry
