Buschur COP question

I was wondering how their old unit with the AEM box stacks up to the one with the new box (M&W?). Is anyone still running the old unit? I just purchased one used and was not aware it was the older unit until now.

This doesn't make me feel very good especially considering you have the better MW box? Dave, any insight on this?

i have contacted others about this issue who also have b/r cop some have the problem some dont.

i pulled the c.o.p. and put the stock back in and the issues were gone. i put the cop back in and there back.

the cop is proven so dont get worried or turn away. its a good unit. i just dont understand my and others problems.

Try to gap them down to 26.
Make sure the M&W box is set correctly for the coils .

The AEM CDI was junk, I think everyone of them ever built probably failed. I think the still owe us about 8 of them we sent in for repair.................

The current CDI's have been basically trouble free. We've had one box fail and one that got filled with water that failed.

I have never run the COP with the stock ECU, not sure how it would work like that. It should work well but my guess is the coil dwell settings and such are not correct using a stock ECU.

I've got a BR COP using the stock ECU and it seems to be doing ok. Is there a setting on the M&W box I need to look at since I'm running the stock ECU.

If this box fails, is there any way I can return it and either have it repaired or get the updated box?

David
Is there an ajustment or setting on the cdi box you use that we should set or no

You said the part throttle brake up may be due to the coil dwell settings in the stock ecu being incorect. Any idea how to change them.... if the car is braking up on part/cruzing/maintaining speed and at red lights when you go to move the car how do you think the coil dwell settings should be set in the ecu?? Where and what direction should we take. WOT though is mint.

I tryed many gaps from .024 all the way too .033 nothing changed

I suppose I'll see how this piece does on the stock ecu. If it doesn't work out, I'll have to decided either to sell or go standalone.

rr06rs, not sure which CDI box you have, the M&W's can be returned to be repaired but because of shipping the last one we got fixed cost very close to the cost of a brand new one. If it is an AEM CDI, good luck. You will probably be screwed.

As for internal settings, the CDI boxes (MW) are NOT to be taken apart at all and we do not take them apart. If there are switches and settings inside, we don't have any idea what they should be.

As for dwell settings and such, I don't know what to tell you on the stock ECU, I don't even know if they are changable in the stock ECU. I've never looked into it.

My guess is something else is wrong.

So you guys don't warranty it if it's the AEM box?

Make sure that you have the multispark enabled on the M&W. Run the lower power output setting so that you can enable it. The car will likely run better at idle.
