yes, very nice. i mean i cant persuade you or anything like that, welding is like an art so i guess it can be subjective...seeing is believing....his shop car makes 430+ hp @ wheels (stock 3sgte w/ custom intake manifod, custom intercooler and pipes, custom exhaust manifold and 3 inch exhaust, as well as custom rewelded water lines - motor is internally stock with only external mods) call him up and set up a time to go over there when he has customers hanging around so you can see what he has done.

John,

In FL there is a shop called Brandon Motorsports. Check them out, I know they do work to Supras.

My Very Best

3037 upgrade

Maybe someone can answer my questions:
1. this upgrade does it void out your warranty?
2. what size trim?
3. appearance wise does it look stock?
4. who makes it?
5. how much does it cost?

thanks for your help!!!!

this is hks 3037s ball bearing turbo, I dont know if this guy bought the whole kit or just the turbo, but the kits go for
$5500-6000 depending where you buy them. it will void your warranty, 3037s is bigger then your stock turbo

These guys are located in Fort Lauderdale, and are an experienced DSM shop:

Garry Marsh's FWD DSM has over 700hp without nitrous. It has run 9.5@151mph in the 1/4mi so far.

thanks for answering all my quetions!!
theres a shop in Houston Turbochargers.com that makes an upgrade that appears to be stock as far the outside appearance so that way when you take it in for service it won't void your warranty. the compressor wheel is 50% larger and the contour of the housing has been cut to accomodate the larger wheel. It has reverse rotation Texas Monster thrust bearings. and its only 825.00w/core.
with those 3037 sounds great but wow its a lot of $. and then your warranty is void.

I'd give the guys (Angel, Patrick, Al) at Garage Advance a call (http://www.garageadvance.com/). They've built some nasty Supras and are great guys.

They've done several AEM setups as well as built motors, etc. They could point you in the right direction in the odd chance that they couldn't take care of your Evo.

If I were in Fla they'd be the ones I took my Supra to. Good luck.

Jim

Team turbo you really think replacing a stock turbo with a rebuilt turbo won't void warranties.

I use to work for an Shop where we sold alot of those GT 3037 turbo's for MR2's and other cars! There are some killer MR2's running some, i would give them a call. They have some experience with those turbos. The owner is almost done with his built MR2 and it has this same turbo, he also has an aftermarket ECU. He works with an awesome Mechanic who is well know in the Honda and Toyota crowd for making big power his name his Paul. Check it out and if you call ask for Isidro .....

If you go to the website below go to the MR2 link and click engine and list the price for those turbo's. I believe they still have some pics.

http://mr2power.net

I wouldn't take my car to Dynamic or South Florida...I've heard of too many horror stories from both of them and i have friends that didn't like their service. There are too many great shops down here tuning wise! But there are some great engine builders and tuners who do their stuff on the side and don't own or work for the above....you just gotta know the right people!

Garage Advance also has an MR2 making about 560rwhp or so on the stock internals!
good luck
