The ignition amplifier could have died. Try pulling it out and see if that helps.

My ignition amplifier (HKS DLI II) fried my coils. Are you NOT supposed to tow an evo with a strap? Flatbed only?

Just looked at the packs they looked fine......The manual on the ignition amplifier said even if went bad would still allow car to work...But I guess I should start there I am going to remove the ignition apm see what that does...

Mine took a dump while I was logging at idle. It sounded like someone stuffed a towel in the exhaust pipe. It just didn't sound like an evo. Disconnect amp, and put in stock coil wires. that should tell you if the amp is bad.

A strap wont mess up the TC? Sorry for the walk down OT street, but I thought it would mess up the TC. Good to know you can use a strap. Never heard of the Amp you have, but if you disconnect/disable it, and the problem goes away, it was that. If a coil is fried, you will be running on only 2 cylinders, and the car will NOT sound normal, either at idle or slight RPM's.

Have you checked the inline fuse on the red power wire to the amp?

i think he means a strap with the tow hook on the front and ALL 4 wheels on the ground....not the hoist you're probably thinking of.

Your problem is the spark amplifier PERIOD. Take it off the car, and you will be OK. I said this 3 times already. . What do you want us to say it is? Let us know, and we can say that. . Your problem is exposed in the FIRST sentence of this thread.

"So recently installed a ignition amplifier".................
