Time to start adding HP
Thanks I will check them out. It occured to me that it might be usefull to include what I have already done to the car, so here it goes. Engine wise not much just a drop in K&N, a cut out post cat, and an ACT clutch good to around 550hp, also upgraded to BF goodwrench g force sport 245/45/R17. Electronics wise I put a CompuStar 2W900FMR (highly recommend, to my knowledge it's the only alarm designed for a standard trans w/remote start, also has built in turbo timer feature), Pioneer Avic N2 navigation head unit with ipod plug in, Phoenix gold octane 8.1, 1 kicker 12" old school solobaric, and a 4awg kit. I just ordered 2 Phoenix gold octane 15.1, 2 1.5 faqrad capacitors, an additional 4awg kit, and a pioneer TS-W5102SPL. I plan on putting one amp on each voice coil so the sub should be getting 3000W RMS, which I think should be plenty loud. I've always been more into stereos and electronics than the motor, so I can help with questions regarding that sort of thing. Thanks again for everyones contributions.
Seems like your serious about this build. If you really plan on a big turbo, and "money is not an issue", I would look into a 5spd conversion. Shepard is the man. That 6 spd is only gunna hold up so long...
Good luck
Post some pic too
I was thinking of keeping a 10K limit on modding this car, because I really want an evo X. Then I could trick it out and use the VIII as my everyday car, since my dog has already put a permanent layer of dog hair into the carpet. So it sounds like I need cams first. Anyone agree? I need help putting together a plan of action as to what will be first, second and so on, with the goal of 500-600whp without having to replace the same parts twice. I will look through other posts to try to learn more since I've been told that's what these forums are about, but anyone willing to give advice on what should go in what order would be appriciated. Thanks
