Thanks!

Yeah I picked up a decent amount of power...here was the scenario:

I base lined at 300/310 in 90 degree weather with 90% humidity at 22psi...This was with full bolt-ons...def an ego-killer since I dynoed at pruven in 30 degree weather at 352 minus a race fmic, but thats a whole other debate.

We checked the tune...then did put on the open dump...and retuned. We got a max of 340/341 at 22 psi on the second run but the car came off the dyno cause the open dump burned through one of the straps on the previous run.

We then finished up with a road tune but increased the boost to 24psi since my car seemed to be more knock-resistant than it was previously...whether this was because of the dump or because it hadn't really been pushed previously is a conclusion you can make. So my final numbers were probaby higher, we just didn't want to chance re-dynoing after the road tune.

The power/torque increase was def noticeable and I had a blast driving it home....not to mention the sound is just amazing.

just an aside, the weather conditions were constant throughout the day so I'd say this was a pretty legit A-B test scenario.

hope this helps!

did you take pics of it off the car ? I'm curious as to where you did the welding exactly on the dump tube. Seems like a lot of fun though

I'll be looking too. I've got my car ripped apart right now. I would love to give one of these a try.

this is interesting... I'm not sure if the gains can scientifically be pointed back to the O2 dump.

so who knows, my gut tells me this was probably pointless.

I'd argue with that, but to each their own...For some people, the cost to do this might not be worth the "gains"....though I would say the gains are legitimate, esp. looking at the circumstances of my test.

The cost is pretty small really. About $140 or so for labor and materials if you can find a friend to weld it for you.

to be clear, the gain could have been due to the i/c and/or the retune alone.... he might have made the same power or perhaps even more without the open dump.

plenty of people with his mods have made the same power without open dump?

That's true - however an examination of the tune before we put on the dump indicated, at least to the tuner, that it was good enough for the mods installed.,fmic was already on there.

I agree with the statement about people made the same power (if not more) w/o a dump, but I think that the weather played a huge role, and when i previously dynoed in the winter, my numbers were higher than what i ended up with in a fmic and an external dump.

This is kinda OT but do you mind listing your mods and what boost controller you run. Because you are holding 21psi at 7000rpm and I am wondering how you are doing that? Did you notice any increase on being able to hold boost with this setup also?
