IC Piping?
IC Piping?
I know the lower IC piping helps alittle but as far as the upper piping getting one that has the small batt kit or not shouldnt matter to much right? So my question is does brand matter for piping or is it all engine "bling"?
The injen is good quality and plenty of people on these boards use their UICP and LICP kits with great results. A few things to keep in mind when buying any type of ic piping is to make sure that the ends are rolled as to prevent the hoses from blowing off.
no it's not just for bling the boost makes our stock piping expand from the pressure, with the hard piping there will be none of that, plus there will be no boost leaks from the clamps or where ever...
if u dont want to buy a small battery, put your battery in your trunk thats what i did cost me 65 bucks

IMHO, the IC piping is just for bling. No, it won't expand under high boost like the stock - but that's never been proven to make a difference in power, trap times, ET's. Only anecdotal claims like, "it feels like boost hits harder, etc..." Yes, I have the Nisei LICP; no I haven't noticed the slightest difference in spool or transient response.
I/C Pipes
I installed the Injen upper and lower I/C pipes on my 06 IX. The Dyno run prior was 260 torque & 269 whp. After the I/C pipe install the outside temp was at least 35-40 degrees higher with alot more humidity. I believe the temp formula is about MINUS 1% for every 10 degree increase in temp..The dyno said 244 torque-267 whp. 269whp minus 3%= 260whp So there is an increase in whp and torque with the I/C pipes..I also wrapped them with insulating tape then gold foil.
