how much extra power can i put down with clutch and uicp?

my parts are in my signature.i put down 418awhp on 92 octane 22psi and stock uicp and clutch.at time of my dyno my clutch was acting up.

since then i have put in a buschur uicp and clutch with resurfaced flywheel.i could feel a huge difference with just clutch added, and even a difference when i put uicp in.

what you think i can lay down now?i know the only way to tell is to dyno but just want to know your opinions?

5hp?10hp?15hp?more?when i pulled clutch it was really really beat,so i know it was holding me back on power.thanks

i would say the added gain would come from a proper-performing clutch...and it must've been slipping bad so you gained back performance that was already there. you might get 5-10whp with the uicp at the most.

From my understanding, the LICP is where the most gains come from when talking about IC Piping seeing as though the stock Upper one is pretty free flowing so I can only imagine you gaining a few HP from that, maybe 5. As for the clutch, couldn't say positively, but a good 35r set-up on 91 octane will get you mid-high 400's

yeah i was just wondering.i still like to dyno on pump again and see.also need to do a race gas dyno.

you think my 418awhp is about right?from what ive been told its good with what im running.stock head, block, intake manifold, clutch and uicp at the time.im happy with it.

next up if i keep car is AMS 2.3L,head,intake manifold, etc etc...maybe a 37R or bigger.

thanks

LICP gives you power, UICP gives hardly anything, if anything at all.

yeah i totally agree..i have the AMS licp that came with the 35R.i ran stock uicp for the longest time because i know it doesnt give much power.and i had idiot evo owners in hawaii say the uicp is the **** and it gives a lot of power.

i bought one only cus i had extra money and didnt want to get anything that required a new aem tune.and i needed shifter bushings being i blew mine off.

It's always good to replace the upper pipe once you get a larger turbo since the soft sections of piping contract/expand under pressure/vacuum. Good to see you finally got one. Also, it cuts down on piping length, giving slightly better throttle response.

You really need to step up your headwork now to get that 35R breathing better. At the very least cams/springs/retainers.

Are you back in HI yet?

I don't think you are gaining any power but just now transfering the power to the ground better. Nice setup!

I'd like to roll but I'm deployed to the PI until December. When are you out?

You are correct in that statement, the clutch will only allow you transmit torque to the wheels. If the previous unit in the car was slipping a new one/upgraded one will allow you to transmit lost power but you shouldn't gain any more unless the old clutch was slipping.

u will get no extra power from either. on the other hand, as im sure u know by now, if ur clutch is indeed sliping, then u will be able to put the power u have now down without any issues.

Good you got the cams in there but i'd hold off on the head-work as these things actually flow quite well.

If you are ready for a stroker why not start to up the boost and run some real fuel to see what that 35R can do.

i know what this 35R can do..ive tuned on about 28-30psi on 117octane,and its a whole new car.but i have not tried 35psi etc...im gonna change to jun cams and valves, retainers etc...and go stroker in the future.
