I recently changed out my UICP, FMIC, and a put in a FP Green. I havent gotten it tuned yet, but now when i bring it up to 10 PSI, it acts like it is slipping. Is it possible that a boost leak would make the car feel like the clutch is slipping?

If your RPM's are increasing and the car is not moving anywhere very fast it sounds like your clutch.

How many miles do you have on your clutch? How many times have you launch or take your car to the track? Boost leak would probably not cause car to not go fast but you'll be boosting less psi and if it feel slipping at 10 psi, you're clutch is slipping

well the thing is, this is a twin disk. exedy twin SD. when i replaced the stocker(a year ago mind you, and no launches), the stock would slip steadily. this is kinda slipping but surging. its different than how the stock one felt.

Being that it's a Twin Disc, it's probably not the clutch unless it wasn't installed correctly. Probably need someone who is experience with clutch answer this question for you my friend. GL

If the engine revs and your speed doesn't change, either the clutch is slipping or... wait... there's nothing else it could be.

If the power is surging but the motor is in lockstep with the speedometer, its something else. Best way to test it, put it in 5th at about 60 or 70 and step on it. If it slips you'll know.

OK Update:

I think the clutch is going. Damn SD Twin. The boost rises, the RPMs rise fast, but the car doesnt move. Its gotta be the clutch. Grrr.

I am about to be making 430-ish to the wheels. Which clutch do you recommend? I might go FP Red in the future, and i dont want to replace yet another. So what should i get? I was contemplatng the Triple Disk and just say f*** it.

I had the SD in my 8 and loved it. It had all kinds of miles and launches and it was fine when I sold the car. I'll probably buy another when it comes time to do one in my 9.

If you are looking for another clutch, I guess you could go with the HD version of your clutch. Thats if you want to stay with an Exedy.

I don't see why it wouldn't. IMO, the SD should've lasted longer than yours did. I"ll be getting another SD when the time comes and I plan on doing a FP red as well.

yea well, tell me about it. i put down 305wtq (mustang dyno). and it held for 20k miles. It should have lasted longer but oh well, my luck.
