flywheel comparison?
Hi!
I have the prolight on my Evo along with an ACT clutch. Also had their clutch on my N/A Integra. Great products. I guess it's slightly different to launch, but really not an issue and revs climb and fall faster...
Regarding the noise. I had original "decel noise" on my Evo when it was new. Over the miles, it kind of went away. For a couple of years, I had noise at idle with the stock clutch pedal out, that went away when the stock clutch pedal was pushed in. Perhaps this was a worn throwout bearing.
At ~74K miles, I finally swapped my stock clutch and flywheel for the aformentioned ACT models. Now there is no noise at idle with the cluch pedal out or in. Perhaps this is due to the fresh throwout bearing. The decel noise I used to remember is back, usually when decelerating with the clutch fully engaged (pedal out), most noticeably from 4k rpm down through 3k rpm. Not the nicest noise, but you get used to it. There is no noise if the clutch is disengaged (pedal in) or the car is in neutral in these rpm ranges.
Note that I also have cams. Oh, and when I had the clutch and flywheel installed, I had the proflex motor bushings installed. Just the side mounts so far. Holy crap does the car shake at idle, and with the A/C on, it's pretty unbearable, lol. It has gotten much better with a few thousand miles, so it's not nearly as noticeable. If I hold the RPMs at ~1krpm, it pretty much goes away. I mention this since it may be contributing to my decel noise as well. Maybe that's why it went away with the stock clutch and flywheel, as the motor mounts wore in, you couldn't hear it as well. Oh well, sorry for the novel. Good luck! I recommend the lighter flywheel, and I drive to work and my 3 year old to daycare every day.
Take care,

How much does an HDSS and a Prolite flywheel weigh? How much does the entire OEM clutch unit and flywheel weigh?
How much acceleration is added with the addition of a Prolite flywheel, like from a roll?
