Quote: I put a bullet muffler on in place of the cat delete straight pipe to try to quite the car car down. All I can say is wow, at idle and part throttle she is nice and quite, anything over 4000rpm and it sounds just like it did before with just the Magnaflow. As far as I can tell throttle and spool are the same. If you are looking for a quieter exhaust this it a great choice.

Now if I can jsut do something with the open dump tube

Can you pass emission? Does it serve the same purpose as a cat?

I doubt it would pass emissions. Its basically a test pipe that quiets down the exhaust system.

It does not restrict the flow at all.

SRT-4 Stock come straight back with just a cat and tips. I did the same for my girl friends 1.8t passat except she went with a muffler b/c she didnt want it to loud. I planned on getting custom exhaust done TB with just a cat and tips.

Now I'm cofused. I thought this second muffler was to take the place of the cat? what does the rear( bumper?) have to do with that?

he has dual tips i bet coming out the back and he he goes with the jdm rear diffuser it has just 1 spot for a exhaust tip to come out. I saw that to and it ruined my hopes of dual tips with a hot carbon diffuser.

There is one muffler in the place of cat / off-road pipe. The other is in the rear of the car.

He is confused as he does NOT have to lose the rear muffler. I ran a JDM rear bumper with the 2 bullets.

Sorry to bring up old threads but, is it possible to do this while still retaining the ability to switch in the 2nd bullet for a cat for emissions purposes? Not sure exactly how the piping is done with this setup, let me know!

Another question, did anybody ever get up a sound clip of this setup? How quiet is it, like-stock, louder? quieter?
Considering running this in CA, aslong as it is quiet, i dont even think a cop would try and "scope out my exhaust" because he would assume it was normal.

Yes, you can swap the BR high flow cat in. A stock cat will not work with the BR exhaust.

You could disguise the bullet muffler with cat heat shields and make it look like a cat, if it's not to long that is.

I got a bullet muffler from summit and then cut the flanges off my test pipe, had my friend weld those onto the muffler. Then I took a heat shield and had it welded it to the muffler, looks legit if anyone wants to peak under my car to see what is under there for "visual".

I also have the buschur magnaflow w/ a second "bullet" style muffler....I like it. Nice thing is I have the buschur SCCA catback so its flanged and not slip fit so I can swap in my cat whenever i want.

Isn't it pretty easy both ways, flanged and slip fit?

Yes you can purchase whatever combination of our exhaust you would like and swap things in and out as needed.

Many people will buy the system with the highflow cat then purchase the bullet muffler to swap out.
