backfire while spooling

backfire while spooling

this happend when i was in 2nd gear and in a steady speed, then i suddenly floored it, once the turbo was spooling my exhaust backfired and then it spooled again, is this normal? thanks!

no, that's not normal.

need a little more information on your level of mods, is this the only time it's happened, etc...

yeah this is the only time it happend, the car has a complete exhaust 3" exhaust coming from the turbo housing, HKS filter, HKS SSQV, and SAFC2 it is tuned at 260 whp. i only use the car once a week. thanks!

well the HKS SSQV, if vented to atmosphere instead of plumbed back into the intake could cause an issue, say you're cruising at semi high rpms, with the intake manifold under deep vacuum and the turbo makings some boost, so that your BOV is probably openand and you nail it, I could see how it could go pig rich for a split second. Or, if you're running way too rich with the SAFC it could cause a backfire also.

i think your right! but my SAFC isnt tuned too be rich it is just right. and my SSQV is also vented into the atmosphere.

yup..dumping too much fuel..lean it out some..cuz i don't think its just right..

if not go with the pump upgrade..the oh so famous..255lph..
