Maybe a long shoot but check cylinder pressure and leak down

The only time i ever used the term "sounds like a Subi" is when a ex valve wasnt closing due to a broken valve spring .

I would take it apart and start over. I would assume you guys put them in incorrectly. I would highly doubt you got a bad set of cams.

Sounds like a timing issue to me. If it ran fine before and all you did was a cam install then you either have the wrong cams or you didn't reinstall them 100% correctly. Maybe your "experience" has you just going through the motions and not thinking about your install. Its easy to check TDC. Why not start there?

I would pull them out and look to see if there are any inperfections. It kind sounds like a timing issue

We put it on the dyno and tried to tune it but it only made 272 and 217 ft/lbs.. took out the plugs that were fouled badly replaced them and the car was still running rich as hell down low. Took off the timing cover and the timing is DEAD on.... no codes what so ever in the car. Going down the highway the car is perfect at 14.8 to 15.2 afr's.... I already turned the cam position sensors to make sure they werent 180degrees out but it still sputters like hell..... has anyone run into a problem like this? Could we possibly have gotten a bad set of cams?
Didn't someone post about Cosworth having a certain lot of cams out there that were machined improperly which caused an installation problem? If so then you may have a set of them that could be bunk and causing the problem. Matter of fact I found the thread for you I hope that it helps and maybe you have a bad set or overlooked something.

There is nothing wrong with Cosworth cams and this rumor is going to come to an end.

Unless the LOWER timing cover is being removed and crank trigger, front oil pump gear and camgear marks are being aligned, you are not doing it correctly.

You need to remove the lower cover, accessory belt, wpump pulley and recheck the marks under the cover.

Just because the marks on the gears to valve cover line up, does NOT mean the car is "in time".
