Uicp

Hi, I was just wondering if there is a noticeable difference in HP between a stock battery kit and a small battery kit when changing the Upper Intercooler Piping? I want new UICP becuase I looks alot better and I know it doesnt really do much for performance, but is there really a difference between the stock battery and paying $200 for a mini battery?

Thanks

I think they're the same, it's just that you'll save weight with the smaller battery. Plus there's some Intercooler piping kit out there that requires a mini battery kit.

+1. some ic piping kits such as the buschur uicp require a small battery kit which in turn saves weight and opens up a little more room in the engine bay.

The biggest gain in going with our short route UICP instead of the stock battery routing is the ~21lbs. weight savings from removing the OEM battery and tray. The short route kit will offer the best possible spool time and transient response because it is 6" shorter than even the stock battery routing, however, the stock battery routing is still 8" shorter than the OEM UICP. Here's a picture of all three for reference.

Im not trying to figure out hp due to the MINE BATTERY! I KNOW A BATTERY DOESNT MAKE HP! I want to know if there is really a noticealble difference between the Short Route and the Stock Battery Pipe kit? The reason I am wondering is because I dont want to spend $200 for a Mini Battery if it doesnt really affect anything!

put your money into better things...$400 for mini battery / uicp isnt worth the money. put your money into a 10.5 hotside and a tune

I am already doing those things, the only performance items I still really want to do is a bigger intercooler with piping from ETS, this is why I am asking about the UICP routing, and then Meth or Alky injection. Thanks for your advice!

Every little bit helps.Just check around with others who already have done the mods you are asking about.I just ordered the ETS 3" intercooler core and the ETS UICP for the stock battery.I noticed a bit of a difference just from the ETS LICP so Im sure that once I have all of the parts in it will make a bit more power.Im sure that the short route UICP will make a little more HP than the UICP routed for the stock battery. Most people on EVO M are running the ETS intercoolers and pipes so Im sure you cant go wrong with ETS.Just get what you want for your car and not what others are telling you to get.Its not like other people are paying for your part upgrades.Good luck!
