Yea i want to get the Hta 35R from buschur its a great price for the that setup. Well it looks like 35R on meth with a 2.3 is going to have to be the setup. Because i have not found any greens that run in the 10s and i want to be in the 10s. And also be able to still have ac and drive it on the street thanks for all the insight guys

The powerband just becomes too small and shifted too far to the higher rpms for me to enjoy.

The other thing you have to realize is the loss in torque. Yes a GT35R will make a bunch more horsepower than a Evo Green on pump. But it will never make as much torque.

Once I swapped the 2 litre for a 2.4... voilla... much better. All the torque comes back and more.
well my car is a freak cause i hit full boost around 4600

The trouble with a decision between either the Green OR a 35R is as others have mentioned, that they are very different in what they have to offer. With the budget you have set you can easily get everything you want and more (or have some cash left over to spend on something else!), and do it with a kit that will be a good middle ground between the Green and 35R. We have four turbo options between those two sizes and with that can tailor the powerband for exactly how you plan to use the car and with what fuel or injection you plan on running. If you'd like to discuss the options I'd welcome the opportunity to go over all of the details with you to make sure the end result is an EVO that performs exactly as you'd hoped. I look forward to hearing from you!

Seriously doubt it. You probably mean 14 psi in 5th gear or something. Post a datalog of a 3rd gear pull and let me know what you find out.

Regardless it's not worth debating because there is a whole thread on GT35R spoolup and 5200 was the norm. Add to that Dave Buscur on his 2 litre + 35R had same results... 5200 rpm. And what do ya know? My 2 litre GT35R was the same.

I don't think ANY of those examples are taking the Evo IX's + some good MIVEC tuning into consideration...

thank you caus ethat is exactly how we got mine to spool so fast...

i have my meth spraying at 11psi and it stops at 26psi... I dont have a way to log my car.... old school no laptop for me.. but you can ask anybody that has seen my car in action or riddin in it...

Either wya no need to argue... i was getting into this thread to give advice bc i too was torn when making a turbo decision.. i never wanted to go as big as a 35r and never wanted to stroke it or run meth... rode in a car with a 35r and meth and viola made my decision... plenty of people around here with greens and 20g's and 30rs... and cars on meth... and i just happen to like the 35r+meth better. When my motor blows(and i know eventually it will) THEN i will still build the 2.0 to maybe a 2.1 and do some work on my head

For spoolup reference, here's a video of Nick's (xiaoni420) EVO IX on stock cams and pump gas hitting full boost at 4800RPM on our T3 61mm ball-bearing turbo kit. The Precision 61mm compressor wheel is basically identically sized when compared with that of a 35R (61.37mm vs. 61.40mm).

ETS tom thank you...

and my car is on cosworth cams and some really aggresive mivec tuning.... so spooling a 35r before 5k is very possible

I want to get 10s on the track and be able to have fun on the street. So i think the green is out. And i know all of us always wants more so the 35R i thought would be the best. It gives me 10s and i have more room left for improvement down the road. Can the 30R give me 10s? I have not seen that yet.

have you ever driven a 10 sec car?
or been in one?
it is quite a bit to handle.
with that much power stuff starts to break..

do you plan on using a sheperd trans?
what suspension do you have?
are you going to drive around on drag radials?

are you installing a cage? 11.39 you get kicked off of the track...with no cage..

you are talking 550whp plus to get to 10's in an Evo...l

et me tell you my friend juans car is frightening compared to mine...he traps 130mph...gt35r 35psi on meth plus 100 octane..

he already broke his 6speed is on a 5 speed now...

a 10 sec Evo is no joke...
