E85 + 100% meth???

YES!

I searched and, I found an E85 station 4.5 miles from my home. I would like to know if anyone is running meth + E85 and, if there is anything I should know before I get tuned? I plan on running 1000cc injectors and, now really considering a green!>???

Thoughts?

I don't know, but do you really need meth when your running E85. Isn't the main purpose of meth is to run higher boost on pump gas, but if your running E85 you can already run higher boost levels.

I say it is redundant. Doesn't E85 have an octane rating of 120 anyway? And 93+ Meth raise the octane rating to 110-ish? I think use one or the other.

You won't need it! I know a couple people running 40+ psi, on just e85 with 0 knock. Don't waist the money on meth, you just won't need it.

E85 and Meth is how i made 712whp on my ETS 67 Trim. I was spraying about 2000cc of meth with 1600cc of injector for E85. Also at about 38 psi of boost my duty cycle was 90 %.

Hmm what was there timing? From our testing with 8.7.1 compression 30 psi and 11 deg of timing is where we were on the border of knocking.

VP Import is at about 120 octane. E98 from what we have seen is 116 octane. tunes at about the same as C16 race gas. E85 is closer to 105-110

I really wish they would have ethanol stations around here in SLC.... we have to settle for 91 octane crap!

I believe that meth has a lower octane rating that E85. If you already have a meth kit, then just run water injection with E85. It will not lower the octane like meth will but it will aid in cooling the intake air charge.

I would listen to this guy. E85 is great but with meth you should have to use less injector and your oct. will be way better..

not really any such thing as "pure octane" but alcohol has roughly 30% better octane rating when compared to gasoline

methanol octane rating is about 123 (RON), ethanol's octane rating is 129 (RON)

I was talking to Lucas English English Racing about this. Methanol straight has a insane knock resistance compared to E85 or E98. Ethanol E85 from all his tuning is about 105 octane. We know that Methanol compared to VP Import has more knock resistance. I know that VP Import is 120 octane.

I'm going to give Marco at Magnus a call and get the low down
