Auto Produce Boss makes a Titanium Down Pipe. It cost 86,100 Yen which is roughly 769 USD.

Here's the link, scroll down to near the bottom. I don't know about you guys, but i would rather get this down pipe instead of the ARC Ti upper intercooler pipe which cost the same.

I would love to know what the weight is on that. I have an Invidia o2 with the support bracket on it so I will be able to run any manifold without worrying about supporting all the turbos weight on the manifold alone. The stock manifold is a nice chunk of weight.

For a manifold (or anything that gets really hot) I would go with Inconel over Ti.

I really wouldn't spend that kind of money on a Ti DP though. Sure it's kind of heavy but most of the weight is below the oil pan which is pretty much as low as you can get. I know it's still in the front of the car but to me it's just not worth it.

I wouldnt go with inconel on a piece that large. It would weigh like 100lbs and that is a lot of inertia if you hit a bump on stock brackets or lack there of with an ebay/megan/buschur/ect o2 housing. I think heat wrap or ceramic coating would be a better choice. Inconel O2 housing on the other hand....

titanium for the bling factor, and some weight savings over stainless. Titanium is 50% lighter than stainless. Since you can't see the dp, it boils down to the weight savings. Is a couple pounds of weight savings worth that much? Not for me.

Inconel is 5% heavier than stainless. It is more tolerant to heat stresses vs. stainless though. It's also mad expensive, not as much as titanium, but still mad expensive. Inconel is a good choice for exhaust valves, but for the price, a bad choice for an exhaust manifold.

Sure it would weigh 100 pounds if you made it out of 1/2" thick material. You make it out of .065 or something similarly thin because Inconel can take the heat better than Ti or Stainless so, it doesn't need to be so thick.

I'm just saying everybody gets wood over Ti when there are better materials out there for certain applications if you are already spending that kind of money.

Ti is like carbon fiber was 8 years ago.

why would you make intercooler pipes out of titanium?? Aluminum is lighter
