Hey guys, i cant make up my mind so i need help from all of you. I am getting cams in the next couple weeks, i was going to get cosis until i was reccomended to get head work because they are more of a aggresive cam set. I hear gsc's make almost as good power, but since i am probably going to go with a bigger turbo, those cams will not work nearly as good. The question is, save to get head work and cosis, or get gsc's and stay stock or near stock turbo size? My plans are atleast 400hp or 11 sec car, and a beast on the streets. I am getting a intake mnifold, already have AMS tbe, intake, mbc, and getting tune after install of cams.

Cosworth 272, you can't go wrong with them. They work great with IX's, but try and search next time, your the 100th person who has asked this question.

You can get GSC S2 cams and they will work great with your setup. I got the S1's but that's because I'm staying with the stock turbo, maybe green later.

do a search. with that said, you can run cosies on stock valve train as long as you keep the stock rev limiter in place. It goes like this GSC S1<cosies<GSC S2's
With the S2's you'll have to upgrade the valve train.
There's a guy here that makes 400 on stock turbo with Cosworth cams and runs 11's. There's others running around these cams also.

both sets are good. i have the s1 and i am really happy. made a big difference and i have a lot of friends with cossies... s1 more midrange... cossies more high end.. even if you go slightly bigger turbo it will still be the same... it depends on what you r going after... High peak horsepower number above 6500 or you want something that stars from 4500 and carries it to 6000.... I like midrange and thats why i went with the gsc s1... i will be getting a 3076 soon and i think that the cams are going to do good with it too...... in both cases you will not regret ..
good luck.

I havent got Cam yet and Im actually debating this same thing... But what you said makes sense to me... The S1 cams will help it in the mid range of the 3076r and sppol. Now if I were you were to get the Cosie than your top end would pull alot harder. Right? Originally Posted by Graphite_MR

I thought the GSC S1 were good from 3k to 7k rpm's?
I dont want to go any bigger then a 35r,thats my dream turbo, but dream is the key word cuz i dont have the money, so i am looking at something like fp green
So what i am seeing is the cosi dont need head work if i am keeping the revs at stock?
Going with cosis, what else is needed other then gaskets and headstuds?
