yeah jason hunt went 199.7 with a BG turbo in his FWD car. also CFT is using them with great success and another guy honda-tech went 9.2 or 9.3@high 160's w/ FWD street car on a BG as well.. he says its been the greatest turbo he has ever used and he has been in the game for quite some time..

This is exactly what I've heard. I'm looking into using one on my next build.

how is it that a journal bearing turbo can spool faster than a dual ball bearing turbo?

Weren't the issues with the BW 50trim mostly related to their version of the Mitsu footprint? The bolt on 50 trim was disappointing but the t3 50 trim seemed to do much better. (I hope that I am remembering this correctly).

Good luck.

I have a BW S366 on my car, I haven't put it on the dyno yet, but it definitely faster than the Holset I had on the car previously. The Holset PRO-HX-40 I had on the car made 521 WHP/417 Ft/Lbs. and spooled to 28 PSI at 4400 RPMs The S366 is supposed to flow a max of 80 lbs/min, so for those looking for 700 HP, this would be the turbo for you. As far as spool as I know I will be asked, I am currently seeing 20 PSI (WG Spring Pressure) by 4500 RPM. This turbo is definitely more than I need but I originally was going to make a all out strip car then decided to change my mind, so I stayed with a cast manifold and the DSM style housing; so I am nowhere near the potential of this turbo, but street-ability is very good and the large free flowing turbine and compressor wheels should make good pump gas numbers.

The Honda guys have been using the S372 because in the sport FWD class, they allow a 72mm inducer for the non-K series motors. So any of the B-series guys will use the S372. The GT4294 is only 70mm and the 4202 is 74mm, so too big.

Garrett invented the variable nozzle/geometry turbine in the 80s and they have been used by Catapillar, etc and other diesel applications (Ford Powerstroke, Chevy Duramax). While BW has the gasoline application in the 911 turbo, I have been hearing of a few failures. BW had to pay Garrett royalties for a while for the technology I believe.

BW is a good company though and have been in the game a long time. KKK, Swetzer (SP?) are both part of BW now.

thats becuase people hop onto what people know as a name and has been proven in the past, it doesnt mean another product isnt better becuase the competitor has been in the performance world forever.. hope that makes sense, garrett makes a great turbo, ive sold hundreds and hundreds. but it doesnt mean its the only good turbo made..

50 trim isnt even a comparible turbo the the gt40's so you arent comparing apples to apples, we are addressing borg S lineup with the extended tips.
