Does anyone user Borg Warner?
The Honda guys seem to really like them. Not many in the EVO trying them that I have seen. BTW, for those that don't know, Borg Warner is one of the biggest turbo manufacturers in the world and makes the Variable Turbine Geometry turbos for the Porsche 911 Turbo.
i have BW on my dump truck. i asked my boss if he would let me swap it out for a gt45r. he looked at me like wtf am i talking about and am i on crack?? he asked me what a gt45r was. i said an upgraded version on the tornado you put in your intake. the gt45r is for the exhaust side. HAHAHAHAHA
This is exactly what I've heard. I'm looking into using one on my next build.
Good luck.
supposedly the extended tip technology helps to spool it.. i was told if it doesnt sppol as fast or faster than the comparable garrett i can return it and have my $$$ back.. well see this week..

I have a BW S366 on my car, I haven't put it on the dyno yet, but it definitely faster than the Holset I had on the car previously. The Holset PRO-HX-40 I had on the car made 521 WHP/417 Ft/Lbs. and spooled to 28 PSI at 4400 RPMs The S366 is supposed to flow a max of 80 lbs/min, so for those looking for 700 HP, this would be the turbo for you. As far as spool as I know I will be asked, I am currently seeing 20 PSI (WG Spring Pressure) by 4500 RPM. This turbo is definitely more than I need but I originally was going to make a all out strip car then decided to change my mind, so I stayed with a cast manifold and the DSM style housing; so I am nowhere near the potential of this turbo, but street-ability is very good and the large free flowing turbine and compressor wheels should make good pump gas numbers.

Garrett invented the variable nozzle/geometry turbine in the 80s and they have been used by Catapillar, etc and other diesel applications (Ford Powerstroke, Chevy Duramax). While BW has the gasoline application in the 911 turbo, I have been hearing of a few failures. BW had to pay Garrett royalties for a while for the technology I believe.
BW is a good company though and have been in the game a long time. KKK, Swetzer (SP?) are both part of BW now.
50 trim isnt even a comparible turbo the the gt40's so you arent comparing apples to apples, we are addressing borg S lineup with the extended tips.
