Over Boosting

i just installed my hallman boostcontroler last night and i switched to the heavy spring and with the boost controller as low as it would go im hitting 25+ pounds of boost.... i didnt hold it, i just notices it when iwas trying to hit stock boost. i put the light spring in and it did the same thing.. i have the vacume line coming off the wastegate to the 90 degree nipple on the MBC and the vacume line from the BOV to the other nipple on the MBC. theres no leaks anywhere. and i know my boost gauge is accurate...

Any help and/or insite to why its doing this?

This pic is from a thread here. If you do it like this then it should work. If not then go back and check it again.

i think your boost knob is loose. Open it and check (turn the knob counter-clockwise all the way out to see it's actually turning the metal stick). It happened sometimes with Hallman mbc. For my case, a crazy glue fixed it.

Well I was in orlando this weekend and friday I stopped by TTP. We tried to figure out what was wrong with the car we even swapped my MBC to a forge MBC and it still did the same thing. Its not the waste gate because I T'd the lines together to make waste gate pressure and that's steady at 13lbs. The guys at TTP think It could be my HKS BOV. Does anyone know if the SSQV v.2 BOV has different springs inside? I didn't have a problem with it when the lines were hooked up to the stock boost solenoid...

The SSQV is suppose to have two springs inside for low rpm shifting pressure release and for high rpm pressure release. I have the HKS SSQV Evo specific and Hallman Pro RX MBC and have no issues with my setup other than the car a little jerky when letting off throttle a little bit after accelerating. Boost works fine. Maybe you got a bad BOV or it may need to be cleaned or its something else.

I was thinking about it. I got the ssqv from ETS, I don't know if its evo specific... if I was to put the stock DV back on, how would I get the flange off that holds the ssqv on to the intercooler piping?

Today I re routed the vacume lines. I gave the BOV its own vac line back. I then routed the vac lines like this turbo nipple > MBC >wastegate. And turned the knob all the way down. It made waste gate pressure 13psi. Turned the knob a few times and got the pressure steady at 19.5psi. So that's all I had to do. The only reason I did it the other way ( BOV line > mbc > wastegate) was because that's what I saw most people runnin on here. But its good to go now so thanks for all the help guys!
