apoxy that **** it works.

I have a extra red filter if anyone needs it i'll sell it cheap..

Buschur no longer sells the one that just strait attaches to the MAF dave said the company quit making them.

His new design is better I feel as it ramps theair into the maf via the machined piece. THats the main difference.

Plus the obvious maf to machined piece to filter.

Is the "new" gray Buschur filter dry or oiled? It isn't clear from their website.

One of the mods here actually got the ebay one and sent it off to have it tested, and it came back with excellent results.

On another note--try asking BR who they get their filters from. They won't tell you, even though you'd be paying for the item--you're not allowed to know who manufactured it...lame.

Normally there are identical BR ebay filters out there. You have to search for "99 eclipse filter". They cost about $11 shipped. I had one on my 03 EVO but chose to stay with the stock air box on my 9. It showed improvements on the dyno but when I tried it at the track the open filter actually hurt my performance. I'm not sure what power level you need to see gains in real life but at 350whp the open element filter is vaporware. My intake temps were 50* higher at the tree and 30* higher at the back end.

Here's a pic of the retired filter:

Vaporware is a result that is promoted and marketed without ever actually being produced.

Intake is marketed as making power on a dyno but faster/quicker 1/4 mile times are not the result.

And in english, Vaporware is a term used in the computer industry to describe a piece of software or hardware that is marketed well in advance, but never actually gets produced.

It's not quite a direct translation into the automotive world. It would be more correct if someone marketed a new aftermarket piece and then never released it.
In this case it's a loose correllation in that the intake is said to make power (again as seen on dyno's) but in real world application the power doesn't seem to manifest itself.
