buschur old filter vs. buschur new filter

anyone know what the difference in the 2 filters are?
i know that the old one (red) has the adapter on the filter itself and the new one (gray) has the adapter as a separate piece. what difference does that make?

so now, what is the difference besides that? what is the advantage over having the new one vs the old one?

i have the red one (old) and was just wondering if i should upgrade to the new one. maybe its got some kind of advantage with that separate adpater or something.?

I don't think there's a difference... Mine is gray and not either one of those colors...

I had the red one, and it broke. Too much G-force Anyways, I got a new one that was white about 9 months ago. I was told the white one had a little better flow.

besides not being required to oil the dry filters, hence their name, what else? i personally don't think there is any difference. but i could be wrong.

Besides easier filter maintenance and not making the mistake of over oiling the filter (cause you don't have to oil it at all). You may want to ask buschur if it flows and filters better. Another source you could look up on is aem's website. Their new filters are a dry type design and it might be very similar if not the same as what buschur is using.

I've run both filters on my car with no differences. AFAIK, they are 100% the same filter material, just different color and the only other difference is the reddish one has a flat top where the greish one has a slightly bowled top. Both bottom mount areas are 100% the same:

whoa, whoa, whoa, hold it.

buschur advertises this...with a separate adapter...and a flat top

and you, razorlab, have this with adapter built in....and round top

something wrong?

i can see no difference if the new filter was like razorlab's...but thats different than whats on buschur's site.
i've heard different maf adapters CAN make the maf read differently. therefore, built in adapters and separate adapters will make the maf read differently.
this is why maf scalings for a certain filter will not work with a different filter that has a different maf adapter.
