evo green spool

Does anyone have an evo green that seems to spool SIGNIFICANTLY slower than there stock turbo....?

Well, mine does. I'm going to try and get some video of it tomorrow, but basically..

I will not hit peak boost in 1st and to my knowledge not 2nd either.

3rd gear, if I punch it at say 3500rpm, it takes almost the entire RPM band to reach 20psi....

the lowend sucks, but does pull hard when it does...

It just seems that the way the evo green is a lot different than the stocker.

stocker, you could punch it and bang 22psi

the green punch it and watch it slowly climb.

also, I have a HP wga, (which I think is the culprit), not sure at this time.

This confuses me. It can't take to the top of 3rd until you hit 20psi. Do you have a dyno graph or log of this setup to see how laggy it really is?

It sounds like you might have an exhaust leak. Maybe the manifold to turbo. I had that on my 05 an it sounds like this. Other than that people are just gonna tell you to boost leak test it.

There is clearly something wrong with your car. The likely causes for your boost problem are:

-Boost leak
-Exhaust leak
-incorrect W/G preload

I do not believe I have an exhaust leak near the turbo... It is possible though. I will go back through everything and check things out..

Yeah trust me it boost extremely, extremely slow.. The HP WGA I am swapping out because of some boost creep that is causing me to have to have the boost lower than what I would like........

Something wrong, it should hit and spool 98% like the stock turbo.

Sounds like you are running just off wastegate pressure and something is wrong with that as well.

I hear my ebc solenoid clicking, so I know that working....

I am going to swap out the HP WGA for a stocker tomorrow and see if that helps, because I was goign to swap that out anyways.. don't need it.

After I will check for boost leaks and exhaust leaks..........

Check all of your vacuum lines. Make sure your bypass valve is not malfunctioning. Buddy of mine had a bov that was leaking boost causing slow spool.

the same one I have always had greddy type S

I'm about to load a dyno, but to me it feels different than when I left the dyno... Or maybe its just me...

I am pretty confident its the wga preload which we had to turn down on the dyno because of the boost creep that you will see on the dyno chart (hump)

Yeah, I'd first try swapping back to the stock IX WGA. You'd think that low preload wouldn't be a problem with the FP HD actuator though, because you're not supposed to be able to set it below 18# anyway. The tendency to creep sounds weird as well.
