slight hicup at idle

I have searched but have not found an answer. just that it is confirmed that is a somewhat of a common problem. at idle sometimes the car will hicup. the revs will drop and the car sounds like it wants to stall but always catches it self. it will sometimes do this after coming to a stop at a traffic light after driving also. i also noticed it does this if I drop the hood while the car is running (since day 1. car now has 20k on it)
I just noticed it recently. I am going to be doing cams and a fmic after the winter. since the idle will be a little lopey with the cams I don't want the thing stalling out on "mild" GSC S1s.
How long do people go before changing out plugs on our cars?
could and kind of a boost leak cause this?
If I can log the dip in revs what should I look for?
And finally any other suggestions.

No CEL have popped up. THANKS guys

The dropping the hood effect is caused by the knock sensor picking up the sound. Your knock sensor is working.

Yeah I kind of figured that is what the was. at least I know thats working. thanks for posting up. now if I can figure out why it will occasionally dip after driving and stopping at a light that would be great. it is a similar dip in RPMs between both occurrences.
