anyone familiar with the vishnu xede?? if so are you please with it?? is it a reliable product and do you recieve good noticeable gains with it?? im looking to purchase one and upgrade from the setup i have now. feel free to give all positive/negative comments on it.
There is a Vishnu section down below, and there is a Xede tuning section in the Engine Mgmt section. Perhaps look at those two sections in order to find the abundance of info regarding this product?
In general, though, tuning is tuning. Any of the tuning methods/devices out there will make power. Only a standalone is going to make more power. The Xede has some bells and whistles that you may like, but it's not going to make a big difference over your flash, although it will cost a helluva lot more. EcuFlash is free...you should use it.

every car with one that i have tuned, we took the xede off before we started (and recommended to sell them, although you get less then a 10th of what you paid for it when you try to resell them). if that gives you an idea of how great a product it is.
I used the Xede on my turbo Miata. It was good at making me more power. But it had several issues.
Like, when I started the car up in the morning... if I tried to get into even 1 lb of boost on a cold motor, the car would instantly spike 21 AFR for no reason & sputter sputter sputter, BAM BAM chitty chitty bang bang backfires. It was nuts. Whenever it was fully warmed up after 15 minutes of driving, I had no problems. This is the only form of tuning for the Mazdaspeed Miata besides a standalone at this time....soooo...... it was my only choice.
For the EVO though, juse use ECUflash. I bought my tactrix cable for like $70 shipped brand new. I love it.

I've heard the Xede had a lot of issues. They just randomly shut the car off myseriously sometimes. Other than that, stick with the stock ECU or if you want more, get a standalone like the AEM or UTEQ.
why do you need a piggy back though? all of these systems are simply bandaids for the stock ecu (UTEC, XEDE, SAFC2, etc etc...). sense we can do nearly everything with the stock ecu as the others, it doesn't need a bandaid. heres what you should do: stock ecu with tactrix cable, or standalone (AEM). anything else your just spending money to do the same thing you can do with the stock ecu.
the tactrix cable is 90 dollars from www.tactrix.com and the software is free www.openecu.org i think is the link for that one. you want to download ecuflash
from there you'll need some datalogging software.... malibujack made some free obd2 logging software at www.activematrix.com i think is his link (just look for the username malibujack here, hes got th elink in his signature).
then your set to go!
