clutch pedal has no pressure
clutch pedal has no pressure
Today, i decided to bleed my clutch b/c it felt a lil soft. My friend pumped the clutch while i open and close the valve. First time I open the valve, it spit a lil bit air and then fluid. Second time I open it, was fluid. Same for 3 and 4 time opening the valve. I opened it a few times to get some fluids through. My friend said it felt better. My friend said the clutch pedal felt better. Friend pumped and I opened it 5th time and then my friend said there's no more pressure in the clutch. Feels like there's air in the lines. I have fluid in the reservoir. I tried to keep pumping the clutch but still can't get pressure. Can the master cylinder go back? or slave go bad? I'm clueless. Thanks
btw. I'm running an exedy twin disk hd clutch and techna fit clutch line.

well obviously you inducted air into the line somehow...
you need to keep bleeding it, if the pedal doesnt come up by itself, its gonna take a while to get the thing to feel right again.
i remember doing this when i put in my new clutch, it was a B*TCH
but luckly i worked at a dealership at the time, put the brake flush machine on it, and it just pushed all the air out of the lines. i doubt your able to get ahold of something like that though

How long did it take for gravity bleed? My friend and I spent an hour trying to get pressure. And still couldn't get it. We kept thinking something must went wrong with either the clutch master or slave cylinder.
clam the rubber section of the line and see if it regain pressure. if it does then either air still trap in the slave cylinder or the slave cylinder is bad. if it doesn't then your master cylinder probably want bad. make sure when your friend push on the pedal check and see is the slave cylinder is pushing the rod out.
The reservoir on the evo is a bit weird, the part that feeds the clutch is in the back you can't see if there's fluid in it, there are three parts . Top the thing off as in over fill and do it again you ran it dry on top.
I had fluid in it. I made sure the whole time. I'm guessing the master cylinder is bad. I took apart the slave and tested it and it seem to hold pressure. So yea, either a lot of air is still in(I dunno how it got in there though) or clutch master cylinder is bad.

I had this exact same problem with my car. The issue was a large air bubble in the back of the reservoir that you can not see. I got some fluid to come through but its still not perfect so I'll be bleeding it some more and trying to get that air bubble fully out. This design really is dumb and doesn't make sense to me. Why not just use 2 separate reservoirs like on most cars?
should've spent $4 on a speedbleeder... you probably didn't keep the fluid up to the neck while bleeding. Or you guys lifted the clutch pedal while the valve was still open.
