sc61 anyone?

I was looking to upgrade turbo and i was looking at the precision sc61 with the sp housing. Whats the spool like on a stock block evo? and is it worth it? Post mods and numbers if you have a sc61. I searched but nothing really came up

Thanks

the sc61 i believe is equivalent to the gt35r. But you can have your choice of exhaust housings. Spool up on a turbo of that nature is going to be from 3800 to 4500 to see full boost im guessing. also depends on the tune of course! choose wisely i know where you can get a great 35r kit! pm me if you have any other questions

its similar to a gt35 but its non ball bearing and it does spool slower and make a tad bit less top end power.
its dort or a poor man's gt35.

if your looking for that kind of power get the gt35r if you can afford it.

does the gt35 make that much more power than the sc61 to justify the extra $700? I know its journal bearing so it will spool a few hundred later than the bb gt35 but what else?

they gt35r and sc61 are going to make very similiar power out puts, the person that said it would make less was probly refering to the sc6152 and not the sc6176, the gt35r is ball bearing so throttle response and spool will be better.

even at 20 psi it still won't hit full boost before 5k really. again it all depends on the setup of the car

ahhhhh, the SC61 is a GREAT turbo, HUGE in the honda market. They make tons of power and relatively cheap. They are very similar to GT35R's, which are also a great turbo AND also make great power. IDK why you had problems with either, there must have been something else wrong
