Does anybodys motor sound wierd when they shut it off almost as if the engine is about to stall? It only does this after the car has been running but i still hear it when the car shuts off. I dont drive my car hard at all either, but it still makes that sound when shutting off car

 

You need to explain better.
It will sound like it's about to stall cause you just shut it off and it will only do it after running because otherwise you are not shutting the engine off?

 

i think its the throttle body closing back up or something, mine makes a weird noise also, but i have a lancer OZ

 

if it sounds almost like a computer hard drive working then it is normal

it is something in the intake manifold

it does the same thing when you turn the car on

i think what he means is that after u turn off the key and the motor stops the last sound u hear is almost like a grinding noise, and it is the intake manifold cause i rushed my car into the dealer as soon as i heard it then me and my friends tried to fix it but its not fixable. and my cai just made it twice as loud.

Sounds to me as if you are hearing your turbo spin down. Are you letting the car idle after coming to a stop for up to a minute? I know someone who has a ball bearing turbo in his car and it takes 3-4 minutes to spin down. While it's spinning down, it sounds like a hard drive that is grinding.

 

When I turn my car off, it sounds like I have a belt loose. It could be the throttle body, I guess, but I'm not sure.

I've gotta get the car in to check the rear control arms anyway, maybe I'll finally get the dealer to take a look at this too.
