Quick MBC Install Questions
I'm installing a Turbo XS MBC, and have been reading the Forge MBC install "How To" and had a few quick questions to make sure I'm understanding the directions correctly.
1st:
I just use a short piece of hose to connect the two nipples on the factory solenoid in this pic right?
2nd:
It looks like the guy removed the stock rubber hoses and installed new ones. Can I use the stock hoses if they fit over the nipples on the turbo XS MBC, or do I have to use a different hose that may have a different inside diameter? It didn't come with any hoses, but I have 2 sizes of extra vaccum hose I can use if needed.
3rd:
Are there are only 2 hoses I need to run? One that goes from the wastegate actuator to the MBC and the other that goes from the MBC to the pressure nipple on the turbo.
Yes I have searched, but I just want to be crystal clear I understand everything correctly!

in my experience:
I know i isntalled a different one but i think the principles are the same.
1: I did not reuse the factory solenoid the hallman mbc is itself the solonoid...
2: I installed a hallman mbc and i just connected two vacuum hoses from the mbc to the wastegate actuator and the pressure nipple. You can use the hose size that will allow the nipple to fit over it. You obviously can't go bigger because then it wouldn't fit. You just need a hose that a pressure can transfer threw and bleed out of if necessary the hose diameter, as long as it fits, is fine. no stockers tho.
3: yes only two. well with the hallman again i duno if its the same dude.
I hope i helped a tad :\
correct me if i am wrong

Awesome, thanks all. Definetly didn't read about the restrictors in my search. I'm going to knock this out tonight, how long did it take you all to install it.
Just use new 4mm I.D. hose and ziptie each fitting tightly
A)Run one hose directly from your boost reference source[either, 1) the compressor discharge nipple, or 2) a "T" spliced into the line which runs from the diverter valve to the intake manifold], to the bottom,(or reference) port of your MBC .
B) Run the second hose from the side port on your MBC to the nipple on the wastegate actuator.
Leave the 2 ports on the factory boost control solenoid capped and the BCS electrically connected.

Install went smooth, to make sure I have it set right, I should be holding 18ish psi right? Depending on what gear, sometimes I go to 20then down to 18. I do have the infamous leaky throttle body, but not too bad. Anyone know about how much pressure drop I may see from this? Works is on backorder till the end of Jan.

turn the MBC all the way down until you get tuned. When I first put mine in, I turned it CCW all the way down and was spiking around 15. Just never go above factory boost level. After my tune I was hitting 20 psi, dropping to 18psig until redline.

I'm not sure, I was more watching it in 2nd and 3rd. I did do one pull in 4th from 40mph to redline and it went up to 18-19ish and stayed there. I have done a boost leak check and the only leak I had was from the throttle body.
This is also the worst possible MBC to put on your car - not sure why people STILL are buying it. How in the world does it even cross people's minds to buy this thing instead of a good one like Forge or Hallman?
