HKS makes two good products. Camshafts and DLI ignition systems. MSRP on camshafts are $760 a set so even then, Cosworth and GSC are much better values. Okada coils rival their DLI box now so HK$ at this point is for suckers with more money than brains.

I've done a lot of searching but I can't seem to decide if its worth it or not go just go with a stock resurfaced flywheel or move up to a lightened flywheel, the gains just don't seem to justify the cost of those things, are they really worth it?

Our niche market is showing others that you can have excellent results with a budget.

The HD-TTP cerametallic ACT unit is the one we currently recommend for drag racing / street use under 550whp.

The HDSS street disc is also a nice option for a more stocklike feel to 500whp.

We stock most ACT clutches and flywheels for the EVO application on the shelves and would be happy to recommend and price out a custom order for you including an ACT flywheel or one of our reconditioned flywheels already resurfaced for install.

Being that you live in Gainesville, its a reasonable trip out here in Orlando to get your clutch in stock and installed the same day 4-6hrs (10hrs by the dealer) by the most experienced Evo driveline expert in the Southeast USA. We install over 100 Evo clutches a year and are ASE Certified.
I agree with TTP completely, go to their shop to get your work done, you have NO IDEA what it's like to go to an experienced shop to get our tranny work done, better to drive and know that the work was done safely. . .

and to THAT end, I'll tell you from being an ACT clutch owner (with the street disc), that it has safely held 345awtq with the occasional launch for a little over a year. . .a lot of people complain of the "gear lockout" issues with ACT, but I have realized that's contingent on installation errors, and I wouldn't think TWICE about getting another ACT. . . .I plan an FP GREEN in the future, and I will probably be at ~390 awtq, which is still safe for an ACT. . .

I have considered the EXEDY twin disc setup (their single disc organic would be TOAST with FP GREEN power for sure), but it's too damn $$$ and not very daily driver friendly from what I've been told. . .who knows though,

AND IF YOU DECIDE TO GO WITH AN AFTERMARKET FLYWHEEL, you will get chatter, it's lighter and will transmit NVH more into the cabin, that's a given. . .I have a resurfaced stock and it's easier to modulate in daily driving without the worry of rev's falling, etc. . .

just purchased the exedy single disc stage 2 cerametallic disc. was this a bad choice? my buddies 03 evo is running same disc, he seems to recommend this clutch. im just curious what others have to say comparing this exedy vs. act's single disc like the hdss. i believe the hdss is organic material right? my understanding is that this organic material would be alright but not hold up to out2step lauches, similair to our OEM clutches, while cerametallic disc can take the abuse of a little slip before the dump. is this correct? is the stage 2 good enough without going to the twin disc on a full factory evo with minor bolt ons?
