PCV system

Hey guys I was wondering If that small 90 degree elbow between the valve cover and intake was the pcv valve?Also Iwas wondering If the catch can system was to prevent wear metal In used oil from entering intake system because the pvc system looks sketchy?Thanks for answers Skred

That is the pcv valve. A catch can is there to collect oil that would normally go into the intake manifold via the pcv breather system. The oil dirties up the intake system, contributes to knock, and probably contributes to carbon buildup.

hey guys i am new to this site and this might sound real dumb but I just installed a catch can into my evo and a friend just gave me a Valve breather is there a place where I can place this?
