Problem with injectors

I tried installing my Precision 880 injectors today, everything went smooth unit the point where I had to put the clips back on the new injectors, andthey won't go on. The tabs on the fuel rail are in the way now. Did I forget or miss something here? Hopefully this is a dumb mistake and an easy fix.

Here are some pics of the problem:

put the harness connections on first. The tabs are there to keep the connections on in case the metal clip comes out.

You could grind the tabs off.

I'd say option 1 is much better than option 2
