Exhaust Manifold to Turbo Gasket

Ok. This has been talked about repeatedly, but I have to know once and for all. There is a rumor going around about how the factory gasket between the exhaust manifold and the turbo is purposely made restrictive and doesn't match up with the actual runners. People say that you can cut away the protruding portion of the gasket and see a great increase in power. Now, here is my task for you. If you are claiming that this can be done, post some pictures. I would go through the trouble of pulling my exhaust manifold off if I knew it was true and could be backed up with pictures, but if I take it off to just find out for myself, I will be pissed if it isn't. The reason I would be pissed is because the rumor seems to have started on here, and if I am to beleive what you all have to say about these cars, then I want it to be acurate. Show some proof and please talk from experience. Oh, and please don't just say "I've personally done the mod and it is true, but I didn't take pictures." I could just as easily say "I drive an 8 second streetable Honda Civic." See how easy it is to say without proof? I just want to see for sure. I know someone out there has pictures of this in one form or another.

Thanks,

Josh

I saw the pics that were perfectly normal looking, but there have been a few people floating around here still claiming that it is true. Anyway, just think of this as a "put up or shut up" type of thread. Personally, I would love it if there was a way to get some extra power out of the car like this, but I want to see it first hand before I go tearing apart a car like this. If I still had one of my other cars, maybe I would. However, since this is the only car that I will be driving.......well......I don't want to do a few hours of work for nothing. For those that claim it is true, show some pictures.

Talk to ozrallyguy.
He is the one that is claiming this and says there are pictures to prove it. Although he hasn't brought it up in a while.

He siad it on 22 Jul. Who knows. Maybe he will show some pictures of this. Remember how it used to be the big thing for artists to put hidden tracks on their CD's? And how DVD's have hidden features? And how some video games have unlockable levels and what-not? If this is true about the car, then perhaps Mitsubishi is reverse-engeneering the cars with hidden features that we, the tuners have to discover. Kinda like in the good old days when the Camaros and Mustangs were rated at like 150 HP for insurance purposes or something. Who knows, except ozrallyguy.

P.S. I tried unlocking some hidden power in my Integra that I used to have, but all I found was rice.

Put soy sauce in the tank.
I got rid of a Honda too.

I think that if it exists it was an error in gasket manufacture. Could be an explanation for some cars being down on power.
Just speculation, though.
