Diff Fluid Fill Level (Tire Rotation)

I changed my diff fluid (front and back) last night and read a post today claiming you should either spin the wheel once or turn the wheel from left to right once to full fill it to the proper level. Is this needed and should I go back and put more fluid in?

I would double check it. There is a chance that an air pocket could develop and give you a false reading. I wouldn't risk damage from low fluid if it could be prevented with a few minutes work.

How do you check this? Poor more in until it flows back out?
