I'll be the one to pull out the "show me proof" card on this. Also does more flow = better, same or worse filter?

they had a 3rd party test off K&N vs mobile 1 and a few others. More flow is better so you dont starve the engine. Of course filtering is very important also, but mobile 1 and K&N showed more than enough filtering.

so is Mobile 1 "fully synthetic". I'm not talking about the other oils they make: high mileage, extended performance, Mobile 5000, Mobile 7500 or whatever else they have. But rather straight up Mobile 1 SuperSyn 10w-30. I've also heard the rumor that they are not "fully Synthetic" but their website says they are.

I've been using Mobile 1 since the beginning and have yet to see any oil burning or any problems with my evo. Anyone have hard evidence that Mobile 1 is not.

Thanks for doing that.

What would provide even better data would be for you to run Mobil1 for one oil change interval and send that in for analysis and then compare the wear numbers.

I'm considering doing that on my next two oil changes.

Only "testing" i have done is just pure personal use. I have used Royal Purple, Eneos, and Motul on stock engine/stock turbo. Motul of course came out with little to no loss after 3-4k miles. When I went 4g64 and 37r turbo, tried them all again, Royal purple was being eaten up like crazy. Eneos was good for about 1000miles then really went downhill after that. Motul still is the only one that for the most part holds. I still have to check on it everynow and then, and sometimes put in .5 quart.
Driving styles on both setups were:
Daily driven with abuse on the street and going to the drag strip.
Only difference now instead of a 2-step 6k rpm launch. I now do a 3.5k Anti-Lag launch. And of course the HP difference.

I told them about my previous 4G63 turbo AWD cars and everything, but they insisted on me watching and taking the stupid test. They said upper management is making them do it.

Anyone else remember this video and test?
I bought mines in 03 and they didn't make me watch a video. My friend bought hers in 03 too and they didn't make her watch it either. Curious about the video now. Anyways, the op asked if mobil 1 was synthetic. I don't think it matters to him if it is full or not.

Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 with an oem filter. I don't like those skinny aftermarket filters from the part stores.

A few weeks, but don't quote me on that.

Just make sure the used M1 is pristine, lol, my used oil container has seen lots of different oils (tranny fluid, antifreeze, etc.) in recent months.
