Thumbs up Basic Mods Needed

Hey Everyone. New to this site and the whole posting thing. My wife just let me buy an 06 Evo IX GSR. We have a 5 month old daughter... Isn't she amazing! Anywho, when she lets me spend more money, what are the basic upgrades that can be easily changed for warranty issues. I'm sure everyone has their own ideas, so I will accept any opinions. My goal till warranty is out is to have a low 12 sec Evo. (I have a Camaro I can go faster in for now). Thanks everyone and can't wait to check out all the website... Cheers

The SEARCH button is your friend! Don't expect your warranty to stay around too long. The minute you throw an intake or catback on the car most dealers will yank it so fast yer head will spin. There are exceptions but generally speaking if you want to mod it's bye bye warranty. But who cares. That's why you bought an EVO right? So here's your 12 sec. list:

drop in filter
3" TBE
boost controller
o2 housing
TUNE!

Try Atlantic Motor Sports in Gaithersburg MD. They do a lot of evos. BTW, my best friend lives in York and has a nasty Jeep SRT-8 in black so if you see him represent for da 4 bangers!

Congrats on the new addition. I bought my evo just a couple of months after my son was born. Definitely go at least with a tune, you'll get better gas mileage and the car will feel a lot better.

Boost controller an a Tune. The factory did most of the hardwork for you now you just have to harness it.

You will get better MPG since the factory makes it run very rich. When you get it tuned it will be leaned out.
