No Top End Power

I have a 2005 evo 8 with stock block, built head, and meth. After about 4500rpm my stock turbo seems like it falls flat on my face. It has a lot of torque but no top end. My dyno after the ems tune was 340whp/360ft lbs. Does anyone know what could cause this? I thought I might have to put this in the advanced threads but I am trying to see if anyone else has had this problem. If anyone knows about air volume that would probably be the most helpful.

Phil, meet stock turbo. Stock turbo, meet Phil. You need something bigger if you want topend. I think the stock turbo flows somewhere around 28-30 lbs per minute if that is what you are looking for...

I am about to put a GT35R but I was trying to find the reason why my setup didn't hold true while others with like setup's have the stock turbo hold up. I appreciate the air volume fact cause I just started to use the formula. From what I am seeing my built head doesn't have enough air when the 272's kick in. It is almost like I am choking it. Retorical I know.

FP helps the top end a bit, but yes, the 35r is WOAH up top, ick down below, unless you go twin scroll. . .but take my advice with a grain, since I'm flirting with the stock turbo and dealing with the "choke" myself. . .

I had a similar problem with my car..It turned out that my upper intercooler hose was leaking,at the second clamp..And it only did it under full boost..Not sure if this helps any..But something you might check..Good luck either way..Justin

My fix for the choke looks to be the ATP stealth 35r kit. Any testimonials/ objection?

Let's see your dyno sheet to prove that it actually does fall flat on it's face.

My turbo holds strong all the way to redline. Do you have cams?
