HELP! Fuel cut cause it's too cold

I got an 05 Evo MR. It's -25 degrees out and -45 degree windchill. I haven't driven my car hard in awhile so after it's been properly warmed up and driven around for awhile, I downshift from 5th to 3rd and full throttled. Right about 5500 rpm I can feel the car jerk and looses power and won't go pass 5500rpm. A couple of miles down the road, at about 70mph, from 6th gear I drop down to 4th gear and tested it again, and same thing happened. Any ideas guys? Is this normal. I know Evos run rich...is this normal? Any input you guys have would be great. Thanks!

Did you do any modifications without a proper tune ?

PS - you may wish to consider taking it easy till it warms up a bit ?

yeah, I've been take it easy...just thought I run the rpm up to prevent "carbon build up." Thanks for the advice. I'm going to take easy until it warms up to 20-30...which I hope is soon.

I don't have a tune yet, it's only got an AEM intake and aftermarket (ARS?)exhaust (no cat) and a Greddy Type S BOV.

I need a Big @$$ bonfire, lol. I'm waiting to get a bit warmer to get my ECU flashed, most likely by Melon...heard nothing but good stuff coming from those guys. I'm also waiting to install my PPI LICP and looking to pick up an UICP soon.
