every once in a while when i start my car to let it warm up i hear this noise from the left side of the motor where the cam gears are..it sounds like its rubbing on something..but when i get ready to shut the car off the noise is gone.!! its really weird..does it from time to time..anybody ever experience this? other than that the car drives normal. any help would be appreciated

Jus like says, check ur belts maybe somthing stuck around them like dirt or debri..

 

Others have had the same noise you are describing on their 06 Evo's. Search "noise" in title only and see what comes up.

 

got this noise too, my vacum line to my egr vavle blew off and i reconnected it today and it hasend done it all day yet. so i dont know if that was the problem but u could always check that...
