The Denso IKH24 are great plugs, they are doing what they need to in my car. We will be tuning for 25psi + here shortly. Will report back then.

Putting the NGK ILFR7H Laser Iridium plugs in my EvoIX this weekend. Been long over due for a change!

I also checked the Gap on them and they came gapped at .021 all 4 of them.

How are people measuring the gap and gapping plugs without touching the electrode? Are they really as sensitive as the Denso website makes them out to be?

I put the ground strap on a counter top or solid bench. Then I lightly tap the top of the plug to bend the strap and close the gap to where I need it.

I use feeler gauges to measure mine, I set them to .018 .457mm

Thanks. I figure a very slight tap with a hammer and eyeballing with a feeler gauge will probably get the job done, without actually having to touch the electrode. Just curious to see what other people had done.

I use pressure on a solid surface to close the strap. I would be a little weary of tapping it with anything.

OK, dump question/thread resurrect:

Basically stock IX, Ebay exhaust and LICP, will add a DP soon, 23 psi, conservative tune. In other words, stock heat range ought to work best, am I right?

Just checking.

Does AutoZone, O'Reilly's, or advanced carry EVO 9 plugs? I'm basically stock power level. So the ikh22s are best? Which ngk plugs are stock equivalent?

Can someone list evo 9 plugs? I don't own a evo 9, but I want to avoid accidentally purchasing plugs recommended for a 9 & it won't end up fitting my evo 7. Are BPR9EiX, BPR9ES, BPR8EiX, BPR8ES for a evo 9?

Can any of you respond to how things worked out for you? Which plugs did you go with?
I'm in need of some. I have basic bolt-ons 330 whp @26 psi.

No reason to run anything cooler than the OEM plug. NGK ILFR7H is what I use on stock turbo and 500whp+ setups.
