Evo 9 Spark Plug List, Also how to read plugs.
recently switched to brisk using the one step colder for the IX's . the copper ones DG suggested work fine on gas at 27psi but since the switch to e85 i wanted to try something a little colder.

just got plugs the ILFR7H Iridium from sparkplug .com I read the first post and it said to check the plugs for proper gap and gapped them but the website said that the manufacture dose not advice in gapping because it might snap the center electrode . will the motor misfire if i don't gap the plugs ?
Update from anyone running brisk plugs. I've had mine in for a bit and swear the car felt down on power with them from the get go. Pulling them today to check health and may gap out a little larger. Must say that plug choice was so much easier with the viii engine in my car

The Brisk plugs seem to be wearing. The gap was well over .30. I had set them to .027 upon install. I was beginning to get a bit of break up on top at 23 psi. Pulled them and tapped them down to .025 and the car just feels better all over the powerband with zero break up on top. I'm probably going to switch to another plug very soon. Running the Sparktech non cdi setup.
i was told the ngk ILFR7H is what i want to use for my evo 9 since that is what comes with the car from the factory. one step colder would be for someone going bigger turbo correct? i just have full exhaust, intake, mbc, intercooler upgrade and licp.
Dude, I usually dont tell people to read the thread(because that is noob hating), but seriously after 10 pages... I digress.
NGK- ILFR7H
Denso IKH22 Denso IKH24= 1 step colder.
If the parts in your sig are current then a step colder might me ify unless you punch it every now and again to "clean" off the plugs. Hope this helps.

Wow this thread got totally jacked up. I have an EVO 9 an I was thinking about running copper plug. I think I gathered the part number somewhere. I also found the stock part number in post #1. Thanks for the original post. Good info. Too bad someone else didn't start a thread for the EVO 8 guys so we could have separated the issue.
Just purchased the Denso IKH24's for $40.90 shipped to my door. They arrived today and look great. I purchased them from a company called ...

But I actually did the transaction via ebay.

I scanned all ten pages quickly, didn't see an answer to my question:
What do you all think the best plug is for a Evo 9 running E85 and high boost (30-35 psi)? I'm also using a SpoolinUp COP ignition system.
I'm thinking the copper plugs mentioned on page 8:
- would not be a good idea...
Thanks,
Hsun

I have an IX with the basic bolt ons, injen piping, 3"tbe, boost controller, tuned to 345/343 before i added an O2 and Manifold. Car holds about 23 psi. I had the original plugs till slightly over 40K and they ran fine, i bought a set of denso IKH24 but never gapped them, after about 3k miles they started running like garbage missfires all throughout the rev range. i put my old ngks back in and the car is running beautful again... My question is, is it worth gaping the Denso plugs and putting them back in?
