Code came on, VSS

Hey guys need some help. When I was driving down the road at about 45 mph, my check engine light came on. My car just started driving like crap and all of a sudden I couldnt go over I think like 2000 rpms . So I pulled into the first parking lot I came to and turned the car off and called a friend of mine with a roll back. He came and picked it up (at no charge) and we took it to his shop. We then pulled the code and it was the VSS (vehicle Speed Sensor) , what could have caused this and how can I fix it. Just to let you guys know, I don't want to take it to the dealeship because I have a lot of mods on the car and the dealers around here are a big PITA. Thanks for any help in advance guys

Did the sensor come unplugged or get damaged somehow. Check the sensor..

I believe it is connected to the trans ..

I had this code last week. I reset it and checked the sensor.. wiggled the wires a bit.. nothing has come back.

The sensor is in the top rear of the tranny under the shifter linkage. You can find a pic of it on the evomoto clutch install how-to.
