anyone running fp-grn w/gsc s2 cams?

anyone running gsc s2 cams with a fp-grn/20g-lt?

i know the gsc website suggest s1 cams up too a 30r/35r style turbo...but i was wondering if anyone out there ventured to try something abit more aggresive?

i have data showing i can make more power with hks 280's over my s1's, but i am considering other options besides going back to the hks 280's.

i dont know how the br272 cams compare to the s2's, so if anyone can share some insight, that would be appreciated too.

superbowl kick-off in 32 minutes!

Brad@MellonTuning is running the S2's on a stock evo 8 turbo, I do believe. I'm pretty sure it's not a IX turbo, and he still made power with them. So if you can make power on a stock viii turbo, a green should handle them without a problem. However, with any big cam, the power gain is going to be up top. I think the idea behind the S1's is to give decent gains across the entire rpm band with the most gain in the mid-range...and since smaller turbos generally run out of breathe up top...the S1's are recommended. Maybe PM Brad@MellonTuning and see what he has to say about the issue.

I have actually been talking to some people about this too. I would like to know also? GSC's website says their s2's are 274/272, but I know that a cam isnt all about duration, so it might be cool to hear Greg chime in if he sees this thread. Good question.

The JUN 272's actually have more effective duration than the GSC S2's. Check the duration at 1mm of lift. OKIX is running the JUN's, so no reason a cam with less duration shouldn't work.

WOT, you have any intention of running the br272's or juns for the 8? I've got the hks 280's right now, but most of the data for cams are for ix's w/greens.

^ i am considering cosi m2's, but if i find a deal on some s2's, i may just throw them in there....with a different spring/retainer set-up.
