backwards motor mounts
backwards motor mounts
my evo was wrecked a while back(massive front end damage) and the shop (national auto)fixed it but put my motor mounts in backwards. ive had an evo tech tell me its not a big deal, but ever since ive had it back from the shop ive noticed rubbing and clacking sounds when turning or going over small bumps and entering some driveways. are these things related? or could it be something else that was not fixed?

motor mounts in backwards? Could you elaborate on this? The drivers and pass. are identical if I recall, and as for the front and rear.. there's no way you could get those backwards, they would never fit in the opposite spot.
im not sure exactly what the tech meant by being installed backwards, ill find out and post when i know
it actually seems the engine is a inch or two too far forward if that makes any sense. ill shutup and find out more before i post again.

ok after seeing him again he assured me its not the motor mounts. but i still have the clunking and rubbing, and on the highway every now and then i hear a sound like a circular saw cutting a 2x4 for a few seconds, any thoughts?
Only when you turn? Or always? Whats your ACD lights indicate? Is all 3 on? or flashing? any check engine light , ses light? What speed does it happen at, what mods are on the car, what year is the car, and finally are all the fluids full? Okay one more, anything leaking under the car?
06 IX rs, no mods, full fluids, no leaks, no lights[engine, ses, or acd(acd light is only on tarmac and not flashing it is solid], about 75mph +/- 5 mph
also, the front end was really f***ed up and cost insurance 16k to fix, they didnt do anything with the drivetrain either.
