BTW these are my PERSONAL statements, not the shop i work for.

I have owned/build several 600+whp Hondas, Supras, 240s, etc.

The shop i work for has owned and tuned a few 600-700whp EVOs.

They owned the stock turbo record for a long time IIRC (it was before i worked here).

They also had a shop EVO that made 700+whp.

The owner of Batlground is a pretty well known tuner, AEM certified, etc.

Now, let me state, I AM NOT A TUNER. I ONLY TUNE MY OWN CARS, NOT CUSTOMERS.

My words may have been kind of harsh, but you have to understand, what you guys are claiming, makes NO SENSE.

Ive seen some of the EVO and DSM guys run over 20psi on pump gas, which imo is flirting with disaster.

what makes an EVO motor so special that it can bend all the tuning rules compared to other internal combustion engines?

Please, maybe since im not a DSM guy i dont know.

But in my personal experience you cannot run 30psi on PUMP GAS without any octane booster and achieve the numbers that you are seeing.

I dont see how you can be aggresive enough on pump gas to make those numbers without a ping.

Again, please explain to me what im missing here that makes this evo so special.

Why can i not run a supra at 30psi on pump gas, or a honda at 30psi on pump gas without a piston melting, but on EVOs you are all saying its fine.

You have any knock logs?

Sincerely
MIKE@batlground

Awesome car Pete. I know you have the DB short block, but what about the head? You must hate when there is snow on the ground and you cant get your fix with that machine!

DB will chime in I am certain. But with his combination of parts, tuning and his stage III bottom end its a reality. Why would he lie? Remember this can not be achieved with the stock motor.

Whats the silicone content or material used in his pistons.

Id like to know, who manufacuters the pistons?

who coats them?

I would sincerley use the search button and go through all the posts on his success on pump gas tunes as its been about a year since he pushed his brothers car to over 30 psi on pump. He uses JE pistons I believe.

20 psi is the stock pressure I run 23psi daily no problems for almost a year on my IX and have no problems what so ever...

Actually I'm really happy with everything. As you have said it's the combination of the right parts and tuning that make it work.
I am very greatful indeed for what you personally have done along with your brother Daniel.
Buschur Racing is a very special place.
What was even more amazing was looking at the old dyno charts from way back,my 3065 kit,and my 37r kit and now this HTA35r kit.
Making comparsions for example how amazing this new setup is,my 3065 kit on c-16 race gas 470 whp.My 37r kit made on pump made 433 whp/294 trq.Just digging through my sheets it's amazing that this new setup has crushed both of them easily.
As a matter of fact now that I look at my 37R on race gas sheet only made 44 whp over the HTA35R on pump!! and 18 ft pounds torque!!
But when I compared the two sheets it looks like the HTA35R would take down the 37R from a dig no problem on pump only!!!,that's crazy, but true. The spoolup and curve on the HTA35r is way better than the 37R on race Gas!!!
This was all done on Buschur racing dyno.

he is not lying....he is a great tuner..

on another thought..i was thinking...doesnt the light weight of the car help with the high numbers on the dyno?? just a thought

Agreed, I run 24-25 on pump and 26-27psi with Torco. Mellon runs 26-27psi on a 35R pump gas stock block and head too.
